The process I want to follow
This is what generally happens!
1. Contextual Inquiry
Observe real-world interactions through interviews, empathy mapping, and SWOT analysis to uncover user needs and challenges.
2. Systems Mapping
Map interconnected systems, define personas, and frame problem statements based on user journeys and research insights.
3. Insights Synthesis
Cluster findings using affinity mapping to uncover patterns and translate them into actionable
design goals.
4. Principle-Driven Ideation
Brainstorm innovative solutions guided by inclusivity, sustainability, and user feedback, co-creating
with stakeholders.
5. Prototype Ecosystem
Develop low to high-fidelity prototypes for digital and physical touch points, focusing on holistic
user experiences.
6. Behavioral Validation
Test solutions using usability testing, A/B testing, and heuristic evaluation to refine based on user behaviors and feedback.
7. Impact Assessment
Evaluate usability, emotional engagement, and sustainability, assessing the solution’s broader impact.
In design education, we're often taught to follow established processes or replicate tried-and-tested methods. While these frameworks have value, I aim to break free from these norms and create a dynamic, personalized design process. I believe relying solely on design thinking can sometimes lead to uniformity, and I strive to bring originality and adaptability to my approach.
